‍‍‍‍On November 6, 2023, the first magnetic yoke ring for the bulb-type mixed-flow turbine unit of the Yinjiang Hydropower Station was officially shipped from IRAETA!‍‍

‍‍Qiao Honglai, the Chief Engineer of Harbin Electric Machinery Company Limited , Liu Xianghai, Vice General Manager of Harbin Electric Machinery Factory (Zhenjiang) Company Limited, Li Jie, Manager of Project Service Management Department, Wang Wei, Assistant to the Chairman of Iraeta, Shang Yuxing, Chief Executive Officer of Domestic Trade, Niu Yubing, Assistant to the Chairman, and other executives attended the ceremony together to witness this important moment.‍‍

The Yinjiang Hydropower Station is located on the upper and middle reaches of the Jinsha River in Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province. It is the only large hydropower station under construction in the central urban area nationwide. As the final stage of the "One Reservoir, Ten Cascades" plan in the middle reaches of the Jinsha River, it has been designated by the National Development and Reform Commission as one of the landmark projects in the new round of Western Development.‍‍

During the operation of the hydropower station, the high-speed rotation of the turbine units, driven by the massive flow of water, generates powerful centrifugal forces. These centrifugal forces are primarily borne by the magnetic yoke components located at the core of the hydropower station. Therefore, the quality requirements for the magnetic yoke forgings at the core position of the hydropower station are extremely high.

‍‍‍‍Since the implementation of the first magnetic yoke ring project at the Yinjiang Hydropower Station by Iraeta, in order to ensure the smooth progress of various key milestones, Iraeta has rapidly organized technical teams to coordinate and plan. The first magnetic yoke ring for the nuclear energy reinstallation business unit was successfully shipped, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent manufacturing of products.‍‍

‍‍The total installed capacity of the Yinjiang Hydropower Project is 6 sets of 65MW bulb-type mixed-flow units, making it the domestically largest single-machine capacity bulb-type mixed-flow unit under construction. The turbine wheel diameter is 7.95 meters, making it the world's largest in its class. Iraeta has undertaken the research and development as well as manufacturing of all 6 sets of magnetic yoke rings and central body forgings.

‍‍‍‍‍‍With the undertaking of this project, Iraeta will leverage the policy advantages brought about by China's "30·60" carbon target. Seizing the market opportunities, Iraeta will fully utilize its own strengths and, in collaboration with Harbin Electric Corporation, engage in more profound cooperation, contributing to the develop-ment of the hydropower industry in China!‍‍
