On January 4, 2023, the barrel flange of Goldwind 16MW prototype wind turbine was successfully dispatched from IRAETA . The products will be installed on the GWH252-16MW offshore wind turbine, which is developed by Three Gorges Group and Goldwind with fully independent intellectual property rights, and will soon be used in the Three Gorges Pingtan offshore project.

‍‍As the world's largest single-unit capacity and lightest weight per MW, Goldwind's 16 MW offshore wind turbine was successfully launched in November 2022, and was honored on the list of "Top 10 National Weapons of 2022", becoming an exemplary representative of accelerating the building of national strategic science and technology forces and helping to achieve a high level of scientific and technological self-sufficiency.‍‍

                                                                            Goldwind 16MW wind turbine rolled out

‍‍The impeller diameter of the unit reaches 252 meters, and the impeller sweeps the wind area of about 50,000 square meters, which is equivalent to the area of 7 standard soccer fields. A single unit can output more than 66 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity per year, which can satisfy the normal electricity consumption of 36,000 families with three mouths for one year, reduce coal consumption by 22,000 tons, and reduce carbon dioxide emission by 54,000 tons, with significant energy-saving and emission reduction effects.‍‍

Large megawatt units mean higher loads, which requires component manufacturers to be more stringent in production processes such as materials, forging processes, heat treatment and quality inspection. Since receiving the order task in December 2022, Iraeta has attached great importance to the project, organized it carefully, and set up a special technical quality team to conduct project demonstration and follow-up on key processes to ensure the stability and reliability of product quality. In the end, it took less than half a month to complete the smooth delivery of the unit's supporting flange.
